Functions of AP mount
Stylish design and intuitive controls
The AP mount features an ultra-smooth finish without any projecting parts. Simply place your telescope on the mount and move it to the desired celestial object without having to loosen any clamps! The mount requires four AA batteries, which are inserted inside the AP mount. This prevents unnecessary cable clutter and reduces the risk of pulling the cables or knocking the mount over in the dark.
The slip clutches allow you to adjust the telescope to your target object easily - no more searching for adjustment clamps in the dark! An optional polar meter is available, which enables you to locate the celestial pole when it is hidden by trees or buildings.
Optional polar finder scope available
The innovative polar finder scope provides a new way to polar align your telescope. Simply align the stars in the crosshair reticle with the same stars in the night sky. Polar alignment is achieved using 3 reference stars. The polar finder is illuminated to facilitate orientation and switches off automatically after 3 minutes to save battery power.
The RA and DEC motor modules are powered by four AA alkaline, Ni-MH or Ni-CD batteries. The RA motor module has a USB Micro-B port for an external power supply. A USB power pack or car charging cable can be used for longer observation sessions.
The newly developed APP-TL130 tripod provides portability and stability for astronomical observations. Measuring just 60 cm when retracted, it is ideal for on-the-go use. The tripod can be extended to a height of 130 cm. The ends of the tripod legs have a retractable rubber cover that protects the floor against scratches.
The STAR BOOK ONE is a multifunctional and intuitive controller that tracks in the RA and DC axis with a range of different speeds. The tracking options are designed for time lapse cameras at a wide range of speeds, including sidereal, lunar and solar rates. The controller also offers many useful functions such as backlash compensation, autoguider port, PEC and a built-in red LED light. The STAR BOOK ONE controller is designed for the AP-SM mount and is an integral part of the RA motor module.
The apochromatic refractors from Vixen feature an optical Super Extra-Low Dispersion SD glass in the objective lens. The SD glass produces a clear and high-contrast image free from false colours.
This gives the observer a colour-neutral, sharp and very high-contrast image.
The SD 81 II has 81 mm lenses and a 625 mm focal length. Weighing just 3.6 kg, it is also very portable
and is suitable for use on smaller mounts.The large focuser allows you to attach heavy cameras without the telescope tilting.
The telescope also comes with a folding mirror for making observations in unfavourable conditions,

The Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor connects your Canon EOS DSLR Camera to a telescope with an appropriate 60 mm Focuser Drawtube Thread. Thanks to the use of new materials and an improved design Vixen was able to considerably uprate both precision and durability, when compared to conventional rotational camera adaptors. Two sets of rotational locking bolts (Long and Short) are supplied. The longer ones are knurled and easy to turn by hand. The shorter options help to prevent marring of the camera casing, when using certain designs of camera and are also much less easy to turn by hand, increasing security if you need the camera locked in a particular rotational position for longer periods.
The large inner dimension of this adaptor prevents vignetting at the edges of the image when using full frame DSLR cameras.
Canon EOS-Bayonet fastener made of hardwearing brass, for years of hassle-free use.
Increased material quality over conventional adapters provides more stability in use.

High-performance flattener and reducer set
The kit consists of a high-performance flattener, a reducer for reducing the focal length, and connection rings (distance ring SD81, EX Tube 66), which were developed for prime-focus astrophotography with the SD81S, SD103S and SD115S telescopes.
The flattener and the 0.79x reducer deliver a significant increase in telescope performance and image quality.
You obtain a flat and sharp image until the edges, including with a full-frame DSLR camera.
Ultra-sharp image over the entire field of view of the DSLR full-frame sensor
The SD flattener improves the image quality to the edge of the field of view without changing the original focal length of the telescope.
The field of view of the DSLR camera with a full-frame sensor is fully illuminated (44 mm), ensuring that stars appear sharp until the edges of the image.
When used in conjunction with the Reducer HD, the focal length is reduced by a factor of 0.79 (f/7.7→6.1) whilst maintaining the 44 mm illumination.
High-contrast AS coating
The anti-reflex AS coating, which is also used on our high-end VSD 100 f/3.8 astrograph, delivers a high light transmission of 99.9% per lens surface. Loss of light, ghosting and scattered light images are virtually eliminated thanks to the completely matte interior coating.

The SLV eyepieces with high-quality lanthanum glass provide remarkably clear and high-contrast images of the night sky right to the edge of the field of view. The lanthanum elements almost completely eliminate chromatic aberration, producing a colour-neutral image right up to the edges. The lenses are also fully multi-coated for high light transmission.
The eyecup can be twisted up and down, making the eyepiece suitable for glasses wearers. The large exit pupil distance of 20 mm means that the eye does not become fatigued during longer periods of use, and the entire field of view can be seen clearly even when wearing glasses.
The eyepiece also features a standard 1.25" filter thread for colour and nebula filters. In addition, the insides of the eyepiece sleeves are fully blackened to reduce distracting reflections.

In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light.
With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light.
Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness.
The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem.
However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. On our new astronomy LED light, the SG-L02, the LED lights produce warm light to improve visibility.
They also ensure that your eyes stay adapted to the dark.

Vixen Polarscope PF-L II for AP & SX Mounts

Vixen’s latest design of polar finder, allows a simple, hassle-free method of polar alignment. The Vixen Polarscope PF-L II for AP & SX mounts has a reticule showing the Pole star (Polaris) and two other stars (Delta UMi and 51 Cep) in their precise positions. By turning the Polarscope you can easily match the reticle with the asterism of these stars in the sky and mechanically adjust your mount’s azimuth and altitude axes to align to the true North Pole. You can then adjust the Polar star to a more precise alignment using the reticule’s year marking (which runs from 2015 to 2040, but in practise can be used much longer after this) .
Using this alignment process, with visual reference to the actual stars in the sky, a complicated alignment, using date and time to calculate Polaris offset from the pole is unnecessary. For alignment in the Southern Hemisphere you simply use the Trapezium asterism (Sigma, Chi, Tau and Upsilon Octantis) of the constellation Octans and position the reticule with the trapezium stars aligned to their marked positions.
The Polarscope has built-in LED illumination, which is dimmable in many stages, and ensures an automatic shut-off after 2 minutes, saving your battery life.

The BRESSER MikroCam II 20 MP 1’’ microscope camera is the professional solution when it comes to microscope imaging.
This camera has a big 1’’ sensor (image area 13.6 x 8.8 mm); this is the biggest sensor of the MikroCam camera range. With this camera it is possible to document roughly the same field of view as it can be seen through the eyepiece (e.g. when using a 10x / 22mm). Other models will cover only 50% or less of the eyepiece field of view.
The Sony IMX183 CMOS-sensor is very sensitive and has extremely low image noise, which makes this camera especially suitable for contrast methods like dark field or phase contrast.
The MikroCam Lab II software comes with a wide range of professional functions, e.g. measurements in live view (calibration slide needed), mosaic, Focus-Stacking (for improved depth of field). All automatic functions (exposure time, gain, white balance etc) can be adjusted manually as well.
Due to the big sensor size the camera will not work with all microscope models. It might be possible that the optics will not illuminate the full sensor, so you experience vignetting. Usually this can be resolved by using the optional 1x optical adapter (item no. 5914001).
Please note that this camera model is not suitable for the stereo microscope BRESSER Science ETD-201. It will cover only a small field of view.

Before you get started, why not decorate your space projector with a rocket, the NASA logo and other great motifs using the stickers provided? Then all you need to do is insert the disc and you’ll have lift off! Operation is extremely easy – simply turn the slide disc to admire the next motif.
You’ll get the prefect picture if you keep the distance to the wall or ceiling between 1.8 and 2 m. The images will shine perfectly on a large project area of 61 x 66 cm. You can use the focus wheel at the front to focus. From the wall to the ceiling and back: simply rotate the globe in the stand to adjust the projection angle. This way, your space motifs will always appear exactly where you can view them best.
