The 82° Series eyepieces come with a twist-up rubber eye-guard that raise to the desired height for the comfort of the observer, and as experienced astronomers know, eye comfort is critical when trying to observe at the visual limits of the telescope. To keep internal reflections to a minimum, all internal surfaces of the eyepiece barrel are flat black, as well as the edges of the lenses themselves to minimize the scattering of light within the lenses themselves. All 82° Series eyepieces are fully multi-coated and edge-blackened to produce maximum contrast.

The 2-group 4-element Plossl optical design of the NPL series eyepieces delivers flat and clear images with good color correction. The lenses are fully multi-coated for high light transmission. The ED80Sf Porta II is a compact 80 mm ED apochromat with a travel-friendly design and a high-contrast, true-colour image quality. When used in combination with the Porta mount, the ED80Sf is the ideal travel telescope for on-the-go observations of eclipses, deep-sky objects and the planets. The exceptional complete set includes a carry case for the telescope, a Crayford focuser, a 9x50 finder, flip mirror and Porta mount. The Porta mount can be easily adjusted via a slip clutch mechanism, meaning there is no need to pull a clamping lever to lock the telescope in position, before tracking adjustments are made.  This speeds up observations and is extremely convenient to use.
